About the role

Position Summary...

The Director, Safety and Security will be lead the program responsible for the security and safety of Last Mile Delivery (LMD) platform. This role will partner closely with Security, Safety, Asset Protection (AP), InfoSec, Claims, Privacy, and other related teams to safeguard our customers, contracted drivers, and store associates.

What you'll do...

  • Program Implementation: Develop a comprehensive safety and security strategy for our Spark platform focused on trust, preparedness, and prevention. Align with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Set high safety standards and maintain quality assurance to measure effectiveness.

  • Cross-functional partnerships: Work with AP, Legal, Compliance, InfoSec, and Safety organizations to streamline processes, develop protocols, implement new technologies, and support special projects related to the safety and security of our Spark platform, assets, customers, contracted drivers, and store associates.

  • Incident Response: Manage high-priority security and safety incident response workflows to ensure prompt and appropriate resolution. Collaborate with the GSOC and InfoSec to monitor and respond to critical incidents, potential threats, or large-scale hazards affecting LMD operations. Ensure timely communication to protect customers, drivers, and store associates. Collaborate with Claims and Legal on improving post-event response procedures.

  • Digital Acceleration: Continually monitor and improve operational KPIs, metrics, and survey results. Leverage data to proactively identify trends, patterns, and opportunities to increase safety posture, enhance security, and reduce occupational accidents. Prioritize and operationalize safety related features in the Spark driver app and other LMD tech platforms.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in incident management, operations, asset protection, security, safety, or similar roles.

  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills.
