Job Title: Director of Quality, Environmental Health & Safety (QEHS)

Locations: Kent, WA • Fort Lauderdale, FL • New Orleans, LA
Salary Range: $135,000–$175,000 per year, plus annual performance bonus
Travel: Up to 50%
Direct Reports: 2–3 (Quality & Safety roles)


About the Role

We are seeking a forward-looking, strategic, and highly driven leader to build, scale, and elevate our Quality, Environmental, and Safety functions across the organization. This role offers the opportunity to architect the systems and standards that support operational excellence across 20+ U.S. facilities while laying the foundation for future international expansion.


This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives in an environment with evolving priorities, medium-term strategic goals, and the autonomy to create structure where it is needed most. The ideal candidate is energized by complexity, can operate confidently in ambiguity, and enjoys designing scalable frameworks that strengthen execution throughout the organization.


You will have ownership of strategic direction while delegating tactical tasks to subject-matter experts, allowing you to focus on building systems, driving change, and influencing outcomes across departments.


Key Responsibilities

Quality Management

  • Build and implement the full ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ensuring readiness for audits. 
  • Establish enterprise-wide quality standards that scale across manufacturing and field service operations. 
  • Lead corrective actions, root cause analysis, and systemic improvement initiatives. 
  • Partner with operations and SOP stakeholders to institutionalize consistent, repeatable best practices.
     

Environmental, Health & Safety

  • Design and implement environmental compliance programs across multiple regional jurisdictions. 
  • Oversee safety programs and partner with the Safety Manager to embed safe work practices throughout the organization. 
  • Develop and execute field safety audit programs in power generation, marine, and service environments. 
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and prioritize remediation of high-risk areas.
     

Continuous Improvement

  • Establish a structured CI framework grounded in Lean/Six Sigma methodologies. 
  • Champion a culture of innovation, proactive problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making. 
  • Work cross-functionally to prioritize improvement initiatives with meaningful operational impacts.
     

Document Control & SOP Governance

  • Manage and enhance the centralized SOP/document control system. 
  • Lead governance processes for SOP drafting, approval, and distribution. 
  • Support adoption of standardized processes through clear structure and collaboration.
     

Leadership & Organizational Growth

  • Serve as a strategic leader who can articulate direction and drive system-level transformation. 
  • Mentor and develop team members within the QEHS organization. 
  • Collaborate with internal leaders to align quality, environmental, and safety goals with operational performance.
     

Performance Measurement

  • Define and manage KPIs across QEHS functions, including quality, safety, and environmental metrics.
     
  • Examples include:
     
    • ISO audit outcomes 
    • Defect and error trends 
    • Safety incident rates 
    • Environmental compliance progress
       
  • Use data to drive improvement, guide decision-making, and report results to senior leadership.
