The Computational Science & Informatics (CSI) division at Roche is integral to advancing the company's research capabilities and driving innovation in drug development through sophisticated data science and computational techniques.  In this role, you will work with a highly collaborative team of imaging scientists, product managers, and software developers and build imaging and data analysis algorithms and solutions in the field of Digital Pathology. You will be a technical expert for leading the agile release train and working alongside team members passionate about software verification of image processing algorithms, pattern recognition, and integration with platform software.

CSI is seeking a Senior Technical Software Project Manager to support Digital Pathology algorithm projects. In this you will lead multiple DP algorithm projects and oversee the successful delivery of the projects on schedule and within budget. You will be responsible for coordinating cross-functional teams, managing project timelines, and driving continuous improvement.

The Opportunity:  

  • Be accountable for the sub and or overall planning, coordination, execution, and delivery of value through the program.
  • Collaborate with the solution train team that sets priorities for the next product increment (PI) planning cycle. 
  • Facilitating the ART team's refinement of features to be considered in the next Pl planning cycle(s) to meet the Feature Definition of Ready.
  • Assists the solution train team in communication and coordination with stakeholders and customers during feature definition and delivery.
  • Drive cross team, ART, and departmental impediments, planning, collaboration, and coordination. 
  • Provide regular and open communication across the program and stakeholders for transparency and awareness of progress and impediments. 
  • Understand, visualize and manage upstream/downstream dependencies.
  • Drive delivery and continuous improvement by utilizing feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity.
  • Analyze program budgets and estimates from participating organizations to provide direction for the overall development of all program budgets and integrated cost profiles.
  • Develop / modify processes, policies, and procedures to facilitate the working relationship between Global Development and its business functions / partners.
  • Ensures compliance with Quality and Regulatory requirements.

Who You Are:  

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

  • You have proven experience in technical project management and Agile release train management within the medical device industry or other highly regulated industries

  • You have experience delivering medical device grade software products adhering to FDA regulations (e.g., 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485).

  • You have a strong understanding of Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and experience in Agile transformation initiatives

  • You have excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams

  • You are proficient in project management tools (e.g., Jira)

  • You have a solid technical background with knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and release management processes

Preferred:  

  • You are a Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalent certifications preferred

This is a remote work opportunity. You will work closely with our teams in Santa Clara, CA and Toronto, ON.
