Job Description

The Senior Business Engagement & Technology Analyst position is part of the Data, Technology & Engineering (DTE) team which supports HR, Legal, OBIE, and Corporate Communications.

As Vertex works to build and enhance our existing systems, we are seeking an individual who will help us identify technical solutions to issues identified by our business stakeholders and subject matter experts (both internally and via third parties), proactively help our organization manage and identify enhancements, assist with vendor releases, collect business requirements, conduct research, proactively engage with business partners, and ultimately help configure, test, document, and more.

 

the ideal candidate will have experience supporting a variety of cloud products such as CounselLink, iManage, Mentorcliq, and GoodTime.  Experience implementing and maintaining SaaS products and the bility to clearly communicate with software vendors and effectively coordinate priorities as business needs change.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Understand business partner needs and vision; deliver technology solutions to support and enable their operations
• Provide insights and ideas as to how technology can improve business processes and enable operating efficiencies
• Lead support, maintenance, and operations for specific systems, solutions and platforms within the portfolio
• Help manage relationships with our strategic software vendors and service providers
• Work closely with DTE Compliance, Internal Audit, and Quality Assurance groups as needed to ensure compliance with all appropriate regulations, as well as our DTE system lifecycle and change management requirements

 

Knowledge and Skills :

• Results-oriented contributor with a proven track record of on-time project delivery
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills; ability to present complex or sensitive information to various technical and non-technical audiences
• Able to manage own workload under minimal / general guidance
• Strong analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in the core disciplines of project management, business analysis, solution design, delivery, and testing
• Proven experience developing productive partnerships with business stakeholders
• Previous work experience in, and understanding of, the biotech / pharmaceutical industry
• Demonstrated understanding and application of good project management practices, as well as the fundamentals of System Life Cycle (SLC) and IT operations
• Strong understanding of the business processes, and any appropriate regulatory environments
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including MS Project & Visio, Excel and PowerPoint experience

 

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in technology discipline or equivalent
• Typically requires 5 years relevant business systems in the Life Sciences industry, or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Pay Range

$60-$70/hr
