Job SummaryThe UMC Intern works closely with the assigned department to perform various tasks and responsibilities under the direct supervisor's supervision.
Job Specific Responsibilities
Daily Assignments may include but are not limited to:
• Responsible for assisting and observing staff within the assigned department.
• Assist with administrative and clerical duties as needed.
• Coordinate various projects independently.
• Performs all other general and special tasks as assigned.
Education and Experience
• Must be actively enrolled in college courses to receive internship opportunity
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Skilled in learning in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to problem solve and communicate
• Proficient in Microsoft Office system
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
Internal: The person in this role will work closely with department staff and core leaders.
External: May encounter and support UMC patients and employees throughout the hospital.
Physical Capabilities
• Occasionally exerts force to lift greater than 10 pounds
• May require sitting for extended periods of time
Environmental/Working Conditions
This position is subject to inside environmental conditions: protection from weather, but not necessarily temperature changes. Schedule varies, but occasional nights and weekends may be required.
