We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Senior Data Science Engineer with a strong interest in AI/ML and advanced analytics to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing and applying data science techniques to solve complex customer problems. This role will involve hands-on experience in machine learning, statistical analysis, and data-driven decision-making to help shape the data strategy and drive insights from large, diverse datasets.  This position will be onsite in Tysons Corner, VA.

What You Will Do:

• Collaborate with data and subject matter experts and customer teams to seek, understand, validate, interpret, and correctly use data and business insights

• Train, validate and deploy machine learning pipelines

• Test, troubleshoot, and enhance customer software applications with and on behalf of customers

• Identify application performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations

• Write application specifications, tutorials and documentation

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

• Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI Poly security clearance is required prior to start date ; U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

• 3+ years of experience in data science, including problem-solving with machine learning and scalable methods (MapReduce, streaming).

• Experience in applied machine learning (regression, classification, supervised/unsupervised learning) and time-series data analysis.

• Software development skills in Python and JavaScript, with experience using Git or other version control systems.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, or a related STEM field with a strong mathematical background (linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics).
• Ability to work autonomously with limited oversight while driving projects independently and collaborating effectively in a team.
• Experience improving processes, systems, or products to enhance performance, along with mentoring and reviewing the work of junior engineers.
• Problem-solving skills, considering multiple issues and specialties, with a motivated, positive work ethic contributing to organizational goals.
• Verbal and written communication skills
