ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Document Control / Records Assistant to join our team supporting the DOE's Y-12 National Security Complex. This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, TN.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to the Documents, Information & Records Management (DIRM) organization.
Convert hard copy records to digital format.
Prepare documents for imaging.
Operate imaging equipment to create quality-level document images and stores electronic images in approved electronic format.
Search, locate, retrieve, and deliver records of information through established procedures and delivery systems in a timely manner.
Verify completeness/thoroughness of the records in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Comply with records by monitoring environmental controls and following established procedures to control access.
Must be able to understand site/organizational procedures that relate to project documents and records.
Requirements
Education & Years of Experience – High School Diploma and 0-2 years of relevant experience.
Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
Desired Skills
Experience in establishing and successfully managing paper-based or electronic systems.
Experience with records and a general understanding of federal records management requirements.
Excellent MS Outlook skills, internet, word processing, and document conversion.
Utilizing specialized computing applications for managing configuration control of documents and other records.
Experience with a records management database.
About the Site
The NNSA's Y-12 National Security Complex, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, is the nation’s only source of enriched uranium nuclear weapon components and provides enriched uranium for the U.S. Navy as well as excels in materials science, precision manufacturing, and stores enriched uranium. Y-12 supports efforts to reduce nuclear proliferation risk and performs work for other government agencies (energy.gov).
