Job Description

Under the direction of the Manager of Policy and Procedure, the Technical Writer will collaborate with various business units to create, standardize, and develop processes and workflows, then transfer the information into Procedures, Standards, or Policies as needed. The right candidate will excel in communication across business units, write clear, concise documentation that can be understood by any business unit, and have a strong understanding of process, communications, flowcharts, training, and facilitation.

Essential Functions

  • Analyze and Review Technical Documentation: Analyze documentation content, flow, and format; make improvements, as necessary. Identify appropriate baseline to tailor project documentation. Suggest best practices and optimizations throughout content generation. Identify risks and gaps through Review Findings and make recommendations for improvement. Review, revise, and maintain technical documents, including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, API developer documentation, and user documentation. Study drawings/topologies, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail. Proficient in Visio and SharePoint.
  • Collaborate with Business Units to Create Processes, Workflows, and Standardized Documentation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and various business units to create and maintain project and product documentation, and business workflows. Work within the Policy and Procedure Program to produce deliverables and documentation across all phases of small documentation projects. Use standardized templates for business and functional requirement documents, technical documentation, process flows, and design specifications. Edits documentation for content, clarity, grammar, and flow. Ensure technical writing projects are completed on time and meet quality standards as scoped within projects. Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking documentation work to meet project schedule dates and stakeholder deliverables.
  • Training Material Development: Develop training material to include manuals or guidelines, processes, and power points. Facilitate exercises to educate others in designed training(s). Update outdated training information and communicate the changes. Ability to manage online meetings and utilize various communication platforms to execute training(s).
  • Research & Development: Research and remain up-to-date on technical writing best practices. Continuously improve documentation by responding to and incorporating feedback from business units and internal users.
  • Bank Secrecy Act: Remains cognizant of and adheres to Ent policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.

Qualifications

Minimum Formal Qualifications for this Position

  • Bachelor's Degree Degree in Business, English, Law, or Organizational Communications with an emphasis in Technical Writing.
  • 3+ years' experience with Technical writing/Workflows to include:
  • 1+ years' experience with managing small projects.
  • 1+ years' experience with collaborative communications.

Each year of relevant work experience may be exchanged for a year in a relevant degree program or vice versa. For example, a requirement of a bachelor's degree in accounting and 2+ years of account experience could be substituted for a high school diploma and 6 years of relevant accounting work experience or a master's degree in accounting and 0 years of work experience.

Technical or Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and basic technical writing skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, while working effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate across business units and organize projects technical writing projects.
