About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Senior Mission Writer to support and enhance the effectiveness of The Salvation Army's (TSA) faith community leaders by writing and editing quality, relevant, easy-to-use resources.
Reporting to the Mission Resource Manager, this is a permanent, full-time position. This position is open to applicants based anywhere in Australia and a part-time option can be considered for the right candidate.
You will successfully
Write resources for TSA faith communities, including but not limited to small group outlines, evangelistic tracts, inter-generational segments, and sermon content.
Edit copy from other Mission writers as required: improve flow, clarity, user-experience, and ensure consistent formatting across all resources.
Identify and promote opportunities for relevant and innovative resource development.
Review and understand relevant Lived Experience research.
You will have
3+ years’ experience writing and editing to a brief (essential).
Experience writing and using Christian ministry resources (essential).
A relevant state Employee Working with Children Check (essential).
Tertiary qualification in theology, ministry, communications, or journalism or related field (preferred).
Understanding or experience of Salvation Army corps-based ministry (preferred).
Experience in youth or young adults ministry(preferred).
