Job Title: Senior Digital DesignerDepartment:   BCIJob Type: Full-TimeLocation: Salt Lake City POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Senior Digital Designer engineer will work on novel state of the art BCI systems featuring custom ASICs. The Senior Digital Designer engineer will support the design of the ASIC and will collaborate with the ASIC AMS designers/manufacturing teams/ and system level engineers during R&D to ensure successful tapeouts.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • PhD in electrical engineering or computer engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in physical design and ASIC design. 

IDEAL COMPETENCIES
  • Strong experience in digital ASIC design tools like Siemens/Synopsys/Cadence.
  • Strong RTL skills in Verilog, system Verilog, and VHDL
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++, Python and/or Matlab
  • Strong scripting skill in TCL, Perl, Makefile for automation tasks. 
  • Strong debugging skills.
  • Extensive experience in designing various complex SoC blocks including NoCs, CPUs, communications and hardware accelerators.
  • Knowledge in ASIC design flow from spec to test and validation.
  • Knowledge in active interposer assembly.
  • Knowledge in FPGA design and implementation
  • Knowledge in microcontroller programming 
  • Knowledge in digital signal processing
  • Knowledge in medical devices.
 ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
  • Work with neuro scientists and drive hardware accelerated signal processing IP priority strategy.
  • Model and provide performance estimations of the hardware implementation of the IP.
  • Collaborate with digital designers to ensure proper integration of the IPs within SoC architectures.
  • Design and verify the IPs.
  • Top-level verification of the IPs.

  • Sitting and standing while typing.
