About the role

Description

The Accounting Manager will oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including managing the accounting staff, monitoring financial transactions, and ensuring all financial records are accurate and up to date. The Accounting Manager will also oversee the preparation of financial reports, budgets, forecasts and will be responsible for meeting reporting deadlines and corporate tax planning and audits.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department

- Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals

- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting

- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures

- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes

- Prepare and review financial statements and reports

- Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations

- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes

- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy

--Oversee the flow of cash and reporting compliance.

--Plan, direct, and coordinate risk and insurance programs of establishments to control risks and losses.

--Maintain financial or account records within accounting/ERP system.

--Prepare financial or regulatory reports required by laws, regulations, or management.

--Verify accuracy of financial or transactional data.

--Direct insurance negotiations, select insurance brokers or carriers, and place insurance.

--Analyze forecasting data to improve business decisions.

--Maintain regulatory or compliance documentation.

--Monitor organizational compliance with regulations.

--Reconcile records of sales or other financial transactions.

--Monitor financial information.

Requirements

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

- CPA certification preferred

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or finance

- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Supervisory experience

- Ability to manage and mentor a team effectively

- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
