IT Director, Accounting Engineering

Casey's is seeking a Director, Accounting Engineering to spearhead our product and  engineering teams. This role is designed for a strategic leader who can drive the development of robust and reliable solutions that align with our ambitious product roadmap for accounting technologies. 

 

As the Accounting Engineering Director, you will lead and develop a team of high-caliber product and engineering professionals dedicated to transforming our accounting architecture and technology stack. Your leadership will enable and drive a thriving engineering culture, setting a clear plan and timeline for the evolution of our engineering organization. 

 

In this role, you will enact a strategic plan to empower team members through processes that enhance code quality, security (OWASP), efficiency, velocity, systems, and engineering practices. You will lead efforts to build an effective resource plan, comprising a mix of team members, and offshore managed services, to drive efficiency and effectiveness. Additionally, you will focus on recruiting and retaining outstanding talent, providing mentoring, training (both internal and external), and fostering opportunities for professional growth and development. 

 

Your technical leadership will be crucial in guiding the organization through application architecture design, code reviews, release responsibilities, and production support. You will set and capture metrics that measure the success of our engineering teams and products, ensuring continuous improvement and excellence. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead engineering and solution architecture teams to create robust and reliable solutions that deliver against an ambitious product roadmap for accounting technologies. 

• Build and lead a team of high caliber engineering and platform teams for accounting. Enable and drive engineering culture. Set a plan and timeline for how engineering organization can evolve. 

• Lead a highly skilled team to transform the accounting architecture and technology stack into a platform that can support a suite of applications and services. 

• Enact a strategic plan for developing and empowering team members with processes that result in improvements to code quality, security (OWASP), efficiency, velocity, systems, and engineering processes. 

• Lead the effort to build the right resource plan comprised of a mix of team members, contract, and offshore labor to drive effectiveness and efficiency. Build organizational capability within function by recruiting and retaining outstanding talent and providing mentoring, training (internal and external), and other opportunities for professional growth and development. 

• Set and capture metrics that measure the success of the engineering teams and products. 

• Provide technical leadership to organization, including application architecture design, code reviews, release responsibilities, production support, etc. 

 

This role does not allow for 100% remote work. Qualified out of state candidates must be willing to relocate and will need to live within a daily commutable distance of Casey's Store Support Center in Ankeny, IA and be willing to work onsite 5 days per week.

Compensation:

Starting pay range:‏‏‎ ‎$157,200‏‎ ‎-‏‏‎ ‎$224,500.‏‏‎ ‎ Actual pay may vary based on Casey’s assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, and qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include local prevailing wages and internal equity. This position is eligible for an annual cash bonus
