Position Summary
We are looking for a skilled Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of industrial vehicles used in the corrugated packaging industry. This includes box trucks, forklifts, clamp trucks, and other warehouse and yard equipment. The ideal candidate will have a Diesel Equipment Technician degree or certification and hands-on experience maintaining diesel and gas-powered fleet vehicles in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of vehicles and equipment, including diesel box trucks, propane/electric forklifts, and Tractor trailer trucks.

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems used in material handling and delivery equipment.

Ensure all vehicles meet DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards through regular inspections and maintenance.

Maintain detailed service logs, inspection records, and parts usage in the maintenance management system.

Respond to breakdowns, service calls, and perform occasional on-site repairs or roadside assistance.

Support equipment uptime and reliability to minimize disruption to production and delivery schedules.

Communicate clearly with drivers, plant staff, and management regarding equipment status and repair timelines.

Assist with fleet compliance documentation, such as registration, inspections, and maintenance schedules.
Qualifications
Qualifications

Diesel Equipment Technician degree or certification (required).

Minimum of 2 years' experience working with commercial trucks, forklifts, and industrial equipment (corrugated industry experience a plus).

Strong knowledge of diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics.

Valid driver’s license required; CDL and/or forklift mechanic certification preferred.

Must provide own hand tools; specialty tools and equipment provided by the company.

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and lift/move up to 75 lbs.

Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed to support delivery needs.
Preferred Skills and Traits

Experience in the corrugated packaging or similar manufacturing industry.

Working knowledge of warehouse fleet operations.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting.
The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors such as work location, job-related skills, qualifications, experience, responsibilities, and relevant education and training.
