Light Equipment Operator

The City of Novi, MI (est. population of 60,000+) is looking for a Light Equipment Operator, to perform a wide variety of physical labor and equipment operation activities involving public works construction, maintenance, and repair work within the City of Novi's Department of Public Works Field Operations Division.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform a variety of tasks involving physical strength and agility, such as breaking pavement and sidewalks, digging holes and trenches, cleaning and sweeping streets, alleys, and gutters. Move equipment and furniture.
• Operate, load, and unload trucks and other vehicles.
• Operate power-driven equipment and hand tools.
• Assist in the forming and pouring and finishing of concrete sidewalks and driveways.
• Assist in performing various street maintenance activities, repairing water or sewer lines, catch basins, manholes, and other masonry activities.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Six months to one year's experience/training in areas of equipment operation and public works maintenance and construction is required. Possession of a valid Michigan Commercial Driver's License is required or ability to obtain.

Salary: $58,195.64 with a comprehensive benefit package
