About the job

This Twilion will act as lead producer for Twilio’s most high-stakes, visible internal events, as well as editor-in-chief for Internal Communications, overseeing our content strategy across all digital channels. For events, this Twilion will lead strategy, planning, and execution for six All Hands meetings per year, as well as quarterly senior leadership meetings. As editor-in-chief, they will oversee the internal communications team’s editorial calendar to ensure company messaging is consistent across all channels and that we are telling the most compelling stories. For both events and channels, they will conceive and execute creative, fun, and memorable employee experiences. As a member of Twilio’s highly-collaborative and -regarded Internal Communications team, this Twilion will play a pivotal role in representing our team to senior management and our cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

Events

  • Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of key internal company events, including Quarterly All Hands, our annual product showcase, annual end of year celebration, quarterly senior leadership meetings, and leadership/customer fireside chats.
  • All  Hands agenda planning - Identify the most strategic topics and stories to align with our company objectives and create a memorable experience for Twilions 
  • Content - Partner with senior leaders and other communication partners to create presentations that reinforce our key messaging and inspire employees.
  • Event production - Build the run of show, manage the AV team, draft executive communications, oversee event timelines, and ensure all key milestones are met on schedule.Troubleshoot and problem-solve any challenges that arise during event planning or execution.
  • Conceive and execute creative, fun ideas to make our company meetings memorable and bring our unique, off-beat culture to life.
  • Analyze feedback and measure the impact of internal events to continuously improve the experience.

Editorial Management

  • Oversee strategy and day-to-day maintenance for our annual editorial calendar to ensure consistency and timeliness for messages that stick
  • In partnership with cross-functional content owners, deliver engaging editorial content across our channels (email, Slack, intranet, office digital screens) that reinforces Twilio’s objectives and key messages
  • Maintain and, as needed revise, our storytelling guidelines, templates, and process documents to ensure our 50+ internal communication partners deliver quality, clear, and concise content
  • Oversee strategy, design, and content for intranet home page and corporate pages (Our Strategy and OKRs, Path to Profitability, Operating Group, Twilion’s Guide to Twilio)

Required:

  • 10+ years of internal communications experience
  • 5+ years of experience managing internal companywide events both in-person and virtual
  • 5+ years Tech industry experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing, or otherwise writing-intensive field 
  • Proficiency with Zoom to manage large-scale events
  • Proficient in consistently using AI for research, drafting, generating creative ideas, and sentiment analysis
