MCS provides a broad range of Technology products and services organized in six core lines of business –Telecommunications, Structured Cabling, Audio-Visual, Security and Life Safety Systems, Electrical Distribution Systems, and Unified Communications.

MCS has an opening for an Enterprise General Superintendent position in Tampa FL. This is to be a full time, permanent position with a benefits package. 

  • This position requires a high level of management skill and experience.
  • Must have a working knowledge of the NEC, OSHA standards, be able to be self-motivated and drive and work with minimal oversight.

Provide enterprise-level oversight of all field superintendents and site leadership across electrical, low-voltage, and technology integration divisions to ensure consistent execution standards and operational discipline.

Develop, implement, and continuously refine the company’s Earned Value Management (EVM) program, including standardized reporting structures, performance baselines, cost controls, and schedule tracking methodologies.

Establish uniform field performance standards, production benchmarks, and accountability frameworks for manpower utilization, material consumption, equipment usage, and jobsite productivity.

Conduct regular performance reviews of active projects in partnership with Project Managers and Operations leadership, identifying opportunities to improve margin, reduce waste, and mitigate schedule or cost overruns.

Analyze labor hours, production rates, and material usage trends to recommend corrective actions and efficiency improvements across all lines of business.

Serve as the central escalation point for field performance issues, resource conflicts, and execution risks impacting multiple projects or divisions.

Lead field audits and site visits to validate compliance with company standards related to safety, quality control, scheduling, documentation, and cost management practices.

Collaborate with Estimating, Procurement, and Finance teams to align production assumptions, material phasing, and budget forecasts with real-time field performance data.

Drive implementation of standardized project controls tools, dashboards, and reporting systems to provide executive leadership with accurate visibility into earned value, schedule performance, and cost variance.

Mentor and develop superintendents and field leaders through coaching, training initiatives, and succession planning to build a strong, scalable field leadership pipeline.

Support pre-construction and kickoff meetings to ensure field execution strategies, manpower plans, and productivity targets are realistic and aligned with contractual and financial objectives.

Partner with Safety and Quality teams to reinforce compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and customer-specific standards, ensuring consistency across all job sites.

Recommend process improvements, technology adoption, and operational best practices that increase scalability, reduce rework, and enhance company-wide profitability.
Prepare and present periodic performance summaries and corrective action plans to executive leadership, translating field data into actionable strategic insights.

Required Experience

 

Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive field experience with an electrical or low-voltage contractor, including direct supervision of crews, foremen, and superintendents on commercial, industrial, or government construction projects.

Demonstrated experience managing multi-project field operations with responsibility for manpower planning, production scheduling, material coordination, and cost control.

Proven track record implementing or enforcing performance standards, productivity benchmarks, or project controls methodologies such as Earned Value Management (EVM), labor tracking, or production rate analysis.

Strong working knowledge of electrical construction practices, installation standards, codes, and safety regulations, with the ability to evaluate field quality and execution efficiency across diverse project types.

Experience collaborating with Project Managers, Estimating, Procurement, and Finance teams to align field performance with budgets, schedules, and contractual obligations.

Demonstrated leadership ability in mentoring and developing field supervisors, building accountability structures, and driving consistent execution across multiple job sites or divisions.
