Job Summary

NuSil, Carpinteria, CA location is HIRING! In this role, you will work under close supervision, assemble mechanical units or fabricated parts to make sub-assemblies or complete products within routine and repetitive assembly operations. Use various hand and power tools and operates equipment which may include jigs, dies, fixtures, templates, punch presses, riveting machines, circular shears, and drill presses in order to cut, file, fit, punch, ream, rivet, form, and/or assemble. Fit, align, calibrate, and adjust parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product requirements. Monitor quality of products and raw materials. If you meet these requirements, APPLY NOW!

What we're looking for:

  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred

  • Experience/Skills: Prior experience as a chemical operator/technician preferred

  • Experience working with chemicals/HazMat is a plus.

  • Basic math, documentation skills required

  • Basic computer skills required

Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Operator is an entry level position on our FIRST SHIFT, that monitors the production process system to ensure proper operation. They inspect, check, and document process production activities. This includes performing container preparation, bulk and non-bulk filling, shipping and receiving activities, and other production and facility capacities as assigned. They ensure safety and quality of workmanship efficiency and timeliness when performing the assigned work.

  • Monitors the production process system to ensure proper operation.

  • Inspects, checks and documents process production activities.

  • Ensures safety, quality of workmanship, efficiency and timeliness when performing the assigned work.

  • Uses and maintains equipment in good working order and reports any abnormalities in a timely fashion.

  • Maintains working areas organized and clean to ensure work efficiency and safety.

  • Follows materials handling practices appropriate with safety standards, while maintaining minimum wastage.

  • Reports security and/or health and safety infractions or potential infractions in a timely manner and to the appropriate contacts.

  • Participate in inventory cycle count programs and accurate record results.

  • May participate in shipping and receiving activities as necessary.

  • May be responsible for snow shoveling/removal.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Typically works in a production environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.

The associate is required to stand and walk for the majority of the working day. The physical requirements of the job are for associates to talk, hear, bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb height, reach above shoulder height, crouch, kneel, balance, and push/pull. Furthermore, the job requires associates to lift/carry/push or pull up to 25 pounds with or without assistance. Associates use both hands for repetitive actions such as grasping and manipulating as well as both feet for repetitive movement. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
