Job Description
The primary purpose of this position is to set-up, maintain, operate, test and inspect product, and perform repairs on associated departmental equipment in conformance to FDA, GMP’s, ISO 13485 standards and finished product specifications. Minimize scrap generation from processes and promote workplace safety. Provide process information to management so production equipment may be optimized and/or process corrected. Assist with training of personnel to perform various functions within each assigned area. Facilitate work flow and ensure product quality is maintained.
What Product Test & Calibration contributes to Cardinal Health
Manufacturing is responsible for cost of production and maintenance activities including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment.
Product Test & Calibration sets up, aligns, monitors, and/or calibrates production equipment. Assists and may perform maintenance on machines and cleans up minor chemical spills in assigned area as well as glassware, ovens, and other equipment.
Responsibilities
Set up various production machines and ancillary equipment according to procedures and product specifications utilizing small hand tools, i.e. wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, drills and channel locks.
Monitor machinery and process goals during shift and make adjustments as necessary to ensure optimum performance of processes.
Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunction and either repair equipment or arrange for technical support to complete repairs.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance as assigned by supervisor according to the Preventive Maintenance schedule.
Complete all pertinent paperwork pertaining to the finished product being produced according to established guidelines in the manufacturing procedures.
Prepare and maintain required maintenance equipment records.
Perform dimensional and physical inspections by using micrometers, dial calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure quality
Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
Selects products for inspection evaluation at specified stages in production process, performs various visual, dimensional, performance, mechanical, electrical, or chemical inspections per required characteristics.
Transport hazardous waste to accumulation areas. Complete Annual Hazardous Waste (RCRA) refresher training.
Cross-train and support where needed throughout the facility.
Qualifications
- 0-1 years of experience preferred
- High School Diploma or GED preferred

Anticipated hourly range: $18.70 per hour to start
