The Moseley Foundation Institute for Cancer & Blood Disorders Inpatient Pediatric Oncology/Transplant & Cellular Therapies is looking for full time and part time Advanced Practice Providers to join our team!
The Lisa Dean Moseley Foundation Institute for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware is seeking a Pediatric Oncology & Cellular Therapies APP (advanced practice nurse or physician assistant) with special interest in the inpatient management of both pediatric oncology and hematology patients inclusive of those undergoing stem cell transplantation/cellular therapies and to join the team!
This is a full-time opportunity to join a thriving Hematology/Oncology division in Delaware’s only free-standing children’s hospital. Primary responsibilities will include the inpatient clinical management of children with malignant hematological disorders, solid tumors, sickle cell disease and patients receiving stem cell transplant and cellular therapies. The pediatric hematology/oncology APRN/PA in this position will work collaboratively with the inpatient hematology/oncology provider team (attendings, advanced practice providers, fellows & residents) to provide seamless patient/family centered healthcare. Additional responsibilities for this front-line clinician include providing coverage for the outpatient pediatric oncology, stem cell transplant/cellular therapies and hematology patient populations as needed.
Highlights of the pediatric hematology/oncology/transplant/cellular therapy program include a supportive and collaborative group of 12 pediatric hematologists/oncologists and 11 advanced practice providers along with dedicated oncology nurses, psychologists, child life specialists, nutritionists, physical therapists, nurse navigators, and social workers. The program is a member of the Children’s Oncology Group and one of the top enrollers of patients in the NCI Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP).
Essential duties and responsibilities will include:
Primary inpatient management of both pediatric hematology and oncology patients including those undergoing stem cell transplant/cellular therapies. Provide continuity of care specific to disease evaluation, chemotherapy/immunotherapy, supportive care management throughout the patient’s treatment course in conjunction with an attending pediatric hematologist/oncologist. Demonstrates a commitment to patient safety in ordering chemotherapy/immunotherapy and supportive care medication/therapies using a computerized order entry system.
Requirements:
- Master's/Doctorate as applicable in correlation with Nursing or Physician Assistant program
- Pediatric Advanced Practice Registered Nurse-Acute Care Certified OR Physician Assistant (PA-C)
- Pediatric Oncology and/or Transplant/Cellular Therapy experience highly preferred.
- CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.
