Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our Transportation Team. This is an entry-level position and is based out of Tampa, Florida.  

Your Role

• Support the planning and environmental teams to deliver transportation projects in the Tampa Bay area and throughout the state of Florida, particularly in the realm of environmental contamination.
• Identify, evaluate, and handle potential contamination in all phases of the transportation project development process (planning, environmental, design, and construction) to comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
• Review and comment on contamination-related documents produced by other consultants.
• Coordinate testing and remediation contractors.
• Participate in field visits and contamination assessments.
• Provide compliance and certifications for transportation projects.
• Track and manage project schedules.
• Serve as liaison in client's office.
• Perform such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

About You

• EDUCATION:
  • Completion of Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management from an ABET accredited college/university or related field.

• EXPERIENCE:
  • 0-2 Years of professional experience in a related technical field.
  • Minimal experience is required of incumbents with a Bachelor's Degree in a branch of Environmental Management directly related to hiring discipline; no experience required with a Master's degree.

• SPECIAL SKILLS
  • Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Geographic Information Systems (preferred).
  • Experience developing technical writings and reports.

Additional Information 

Expected compensation range is between $55,000 - $58,240 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
