Senior Data Analyst

Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Data Analyst to join our finance team. This role will be instrumental in driving data-informed decision-making by leveraging advanced financial modeling, reporting, and analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (D365FO), Power BI, and SQL to support financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis.

 

Hybrid position to be based at the ViaPath office in Falls Church, VA.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
• Analyze financial results and key performance indicators to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
• Design, develop, and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize financial data, operational KPIs, and strategic metrics.
• Extract, transform, and analyze data from D365FO and other systems using SQL.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and business case development.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy across financial systems and reports.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required. MBA or Masters in a related field is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in data analysis or a related role.
• Advanced Power BI skills, including dashboard creation, DAX formulas, and data modeling.
• Strong SQL skills for querying and manipulating large datasets.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Qualifications 

• Familiarity with other ERP systems and financial planning tools (Adaptive, Hyperion, Vena or related systems).
• Knowledge of data governance and financial compliance standards.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 FO.
