Job Purpose
BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Test Equipment Project Manager. The Test Equipment Project Manager will lead the equipment team in quoting, design, build, checkout, and delivery of manufacturing equipment needed by the test organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for project quoting
- Manage change of scope issues
- Drives accountability and action within the test equipment development group
- Assure project timelines and commitments are met
- Escalates problems when appropriate
- Ensures team resources are available to meet delivery commitments
- Coordinate/lead the concept design reviews for custom designs
- Achieves departmental budget goals
- Recommend spare parts and preventative maintenance for direct design, assembly and debugging efforts
- Follow project build activity and provide engineering support for debug and buyoff at build supplier
- Assist in training new employees
- Document all phases of project to ensure customer satisfaction, project milestones, and significant project information.
- Prepare/maintain equipment documentation for archives.
- Develop outside suppliers for equipment build
What We’re Looking For
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent; however, a MS degree is preferred
- A minimum of 5 years’ project leadership experience; preference will be given to candidates with more years of experience
- 8+ years of engineering experience required
- Experience in automotive electronics manufacturing equipment is preferred
- Good problem-solving skills
- Works well in group settings
- Ability to train, teach, and mentor other engineers preferred
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated
- Manages team conflict effectively
- Demonstrates resourcefulness in problem solving
- Highly detail-oriented and knowledgeable of the test requirements elements
- Experience with Powertrain and Power Electronics product lines
