Our Collins Aerospace York, NE site is a manufacturer of highly engineered precision components supporting both commercial and military customers. Manufactured components are used primarily in generators and Ram Air Turbines (RAT) used for aircraft emergency power generation. Our Ram Air Turbines have been used to save aircrafts and over 2,600 lives.

NDT Technician shall apply all basic principles, methods, equipment, operating procedures and inspection techniques to products requiring specific methods of non-destructive testing per applicable specifications

and/or instruction.

What You Will Do:

• Perform and interpret Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), including equipment setup, test execution, evaluation, and documentation in accordance with applicable standards.
• Understand the scope, limitations, codes, and standards related to certified NDT methods used at Collins Aerospace.
• Guide and supervise trainees and Level 1 personnel in certified NDT techniques, ensuring adherence to procedures and safety.
• Develop NDT work instructions requiring Level 3 approval and participate in regular system performance checks.
• Pass initial and 5-year interval re-certification exams for each NDT method; possess knowledge of product manufacturing and inspection technologies.
• Physically perform job duties including lifting up to 35 lbs, using push carts, operating Magnaflux machines, and working with chemical vapors.
• Other Duties and Tasks as assigned.
• 2nd Shift: 3 pm to 11 pm
• Training will take place on 1st Shift (7 am to 3 pm) for 6 to 9 months.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Previous certification Level 2 in any of the following disciplines: PT, MT, UT
• Associate Degree in Nondestructive Testing Technology
• Experience using basic measuring instruments and hand tools
• Experience in performing mathematical calculations (adding and subtracting decimals)
• Experience reading blueprints
