The Work You Will Do:
Pavement Non-Destructive Testing Specialist / Engineering And Operations / Bureau Of Materials And Research / State Materials Office / Pavement Systems Evaluation
This position will operate statewide pavement evaluation equipment to assess roadway surface characteristics. Plans and coordinates field testing in accordance with applicable standards and safety requirements. Ensures accurate and timely data collection, management, and continuous improvement of operational efficiency.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
Operates Pavement Evaluation equipment including a Friction Testing vehicle, On-Board Sound Intensity Trailer, Mobile Retroreflectivity, and other related testing devices on a statewide basis and performs field evaluation on the State and public roadway systems to assess the traveled surface characteristics. Ensures all testing is properly planned and performed in accordance with the applicable governing test standards, procedures, protocols, and guidelines. Schedules and coordinates the field operations and activities, including maintenance of traffic, with other District Offices and Consultants, as required. Ensures timely data collection, processing, accuracy, storage, and retrieval. Makes/recommends ways to improve work efficiency and optimization of existing resources.
Performs data processing and analysis and applies engineering judgment to formulate findings and conclusions. Takes timely action to correct any errors in the data. Prepares detailed summary reports on findings and provides recommendations, as required. Actively facilitates the notification of stakeholders of findings and conclusions.
