Job Summary
The Senior Director, Editorial & Content Strategy will partner with frontline fundraisers, hospital leadership and medical staff to develop internal and external communications in pursuit of major, principal and transformational gifts. This person will work closely with the Foundation leadership team and gift officers to expand upon and translate approved funding opportunities for a donor constituency. They will provide strategic guidance and contribute to long-range communications strategies to advance key solicitations, including producing cases for support, proposals, stewardship materials and strategic messaging for our highest-level donors and prospects. The Senior Director, Editorial & Content Strategy will expand and lead the editorial team and drive annual and long-term strategic plan and priorities. This role is critical to ensuring editorial consistency and donor-centric materials that inspire giving. This position will report to the Associate Vice President, Foundation Marketing and work closely with the Foundation’s Marketing, Stewardship & Donor Relations, Advancement, Institutional & Transformational Giving and Strategic Initiatives teams.Pay Range
Minimum $95,555 Midpoint $143,333 Maximum $191,110Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
Experience
• Required: Minimum seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in grant development with a successful track record in identifying local, regional and national prospects, writing and submitting proposals, maintaining funder relationships, and securing funding from private and public sector sources. Experience working directly with staff and leadership on a variety of projects related to program funding and development, advancing strategic initiatives and developing partnerships.
• Preferred: Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in grant, program, and partnership development. Experience in grant writing and development in the healthcare industry.
Education
• Required: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• Preferred: Master's Degree in a relevant field.
Training
• Required: None required.

• Required: Excellent writing, editing, and interpersonal skills. Proven track record in managing complex programs and multiple demands. Must possess the ability to work independently and multi-task. Good judgment and discernment are emphasized. Must possess strong communication and leadership skills, including the ability to effectively present information, provide sophisticated analysis, respond to questions while proactively presenting solutions to co-workers, program staff, physicians, hospital departments, foundations, government agencies, and the general public. Sound ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with absolute discretion. Ability to set goals and assess results in accordance with the highest standards, advance care through development of new ideas and initiatives, promote teamwork to achieve CHOC Children's mission, and understand and exceed expectations. Must possess a professional demeanor in approach and appearance.
