About the role

Job Description Summary

Organization's Summary Statement:

The Human Resources team within the Division of University Relations is looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Human Resources & Payroll Coordinator to join us. In this key role, you will be the primary payroll contact for our large and diverse team of over 200 professional staff, as well as contractual and student workers. Your responsibilities will include accurately tracking and processing essential employment information such as employment status, probation periods, contract expirations and renewals, and various pay adjustments like overloads and administrative increments.

Success in this position requires a strong commitment to customer service and collaboration. The coordinator will serve as our division's main point of contact and liaison with central university departments, including UHR, DIT, and DOTS, ensuring smooth communication and efficient processes. Due to the nature of the work, the incumbent must also be well-versed in handling confidential and sensitive information.

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard equipment and keyboards.

-Knowledge of human resources policies and procedures, and federal, state, and other applicable human resources related laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances.
-Knowledge of payroll functions.
-Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office products.
-Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
-Ability to analyze situations and determine the best recourse for response.
-Familiarity with university human capital systems.
-Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: One (1) year of professional human resources or payroll experience. Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education. Knowledge of human resources policies and procedures, and federal, state, and other applicable human resources related laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances. Knowledge of payroll functions. Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products. Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments. Ability to analyze situations and determine the best recourse for response.
