LINUX CYBERSECURITY ENGINEER II

Located onsite at Rocket Lab Headquarters in Long Beach, CA, the Linux Cybersecurity Engineer will be responsible for the securing and hardening our organization’s Linux infrastructure. These systems include support of the infrastructure required for critical systems at related sites located in the US, NZ and cloud. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux administration, secure best practices, operating and application patching and Ansible.

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:

• Implement and manage security patches and update for Ubuntu systems.
• Perform regular audits to ensure secure systems meet security and compliance standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system security and performance
• Develop, maintain, and optimize Ansible playbooks for system automation and configuration management
• Integrate Ansible playbooks with other infrastructure management tools and processes
• Ensure playbooks are version-controlled, documented and tested

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2+ years of Linux security administration experience, and a bachelor’s degree; or equivalent years of work experience (6+ years total experience).
• Experience working in a on-premises and cloud environment
• Strong understanding of Linux security processes, protocols and methods
• Proficient in Bash or Python

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
• Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing.
• Must be physically able to commute to buildings.
• Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate levels of noise.

Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
