ARAAbout the role
Join our team of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers as well as technicians innovating the latest technology in the Integrated Products Division (IPD) of ARA. Our interns are valued members of the team, tasked with work that is critical to the success of our projects. Tasks include working with personnel to execute additive construction research, development tasks, and assisting with set up and cleaning of additive construction equipment. As part of the team you will be receiving hands on learning of the overall system, its capabilities, troubleshooting, and integration of sensor and robotic components.
This Technical Intern position is to directly support the IPD team in developing, testing and delivering the first generation of concrete additive construction technologies. You will assist senior engineers and technicians in support of project goals and deliverables.
This is a full-time opportunity.
- What you’ll do as a Technical Intern 2
- Aiding engineers and technicians in the development of a concrete additive construction system which includes robotic and sensor products:
- Operational set up, testing, and support of 3D printed materials
- Hands-on work with additive construction equipment and team (indoors and outdoors
- Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems supporting the additive construction process
- Assembling electrical and mechanical components
- Performing subsystem and system testing
- Participating in design artifact generation and review
- Aiding engineers and technicians in the development of a concrete additive construction system which includes robotic and sensor products:
- Technical Intern 2 Requirements
- Must be a freshman or sophomore in college actively pursuing a degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
- Must be able to effectively communicate and work within a team
- Must be familiar with material properties and construction equipment
- Must be familiar hand tools, motorized equipment, and electro-mechanical assembly
