Duties and Responsibilities
This position serves as the Classification and Compensation Analyst for the Bureau of Personnel Services. Through data analysis, research and assessment, this position provides consultation to our members regarding classification and compensation decisions to ensure consistency and compliance with regulatory standards. This position plays an active role in position management to include assessing position duties and responsibilities to determine appropriate classifications, maintaining position descriptions and organizational charts, and serving as a subject matter expert in classification-related projects and initiatives.
As an HR Analyst, the incumbent will perform compliance on pay adjustment actions. This position will also research and conduct detailed analysis of external labor market trends to help determine appropriate compensation levels and pay strategies, then assisting in implementation of any necessary adjustments based on research findings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to self-regulate, multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively to meet deadlines and achieve desired outcomes.
- Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data, develop logical conclusions and make sound recommendations, and effectively summarize and support recommendations and findings in writing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn and apply the principles, practices and techniques of classification and compensation administration.
