Staff Accountant - Fixed Asset and General Accountings

OVERVIEW

We’re currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Staff Accountant to join our growing team.

 

This individual will primarily be responsible for managing the organization’s fixed assets and supporting various other accounting functions, including cash application and general staff-level duties. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, have experience with fixed asset management, and be capable of working on a variety of accounting tasks in a dynamic environment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Fixed Asset Management:

• Oversee the full life cycle of fixed assets, including tracking, recording, and maintaining accurate asset records.
• Manage asset capitalization, depreciation, and disposal processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Reconcile fixed asset subledger to the general ledger on a monthly basis.
• Prepare and maintain detailed fixed asset schedules for reporting purposes.
• Assist in the preparation of annual asset audits, ensuring all fixed assets are properly accounted for and supported.

Cash Application:

• Apply customer payments to accounts receivable accurately and in a timely manner.
• Monitor unapplied cash and resolve any discrepancies.
• Work with the accounts receivable team to ensure accurate posting of payments.

General Accounting Support:

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all entries are recorded accurately and timely.
• Help prepare financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Participate in reconciling balance sheet accounts and resolving discrepancies.
• Support ad-hoc accounting projects as needed, including analysis and reporting tasks.
• Assist in the preparation of tax filings, audits, and financial reviews.

 

Other Duties:

• Assist with internal and external audit requests related to fixed assets and general accounting functions.
• Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments on financial reporting needs and process improvements.
   

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably with a focus on fixed asset management.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, including asset capitalization, depreciation, and reconciliation.
• Experience with SAP preferred
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Experience with cash application processes.
• Knowledge of GAAP and asset accounting principles.
• Previous experience in a fast-paced accounting environment.
