Job Description:
This job is responsible for performing more complex analysis aimed at improving portfolio risk, profitability, performance forecasting, and operational performance for consumer products and related divisions, such as credit cards. Key responsibilities include applying knowledge of multiple business and technical-related topics and independently driving strategic improvements, large-scale projects, and initiatives. Job expectations include working with business counterparts within the Line of Business and partner organizations including Risk and Product teams.

Primary function is to work across Home Loans Data, Technology and Line of Business partners to facilitate a robust, reliable, consistent, and controlled data environment for Analysts and Strategy Managers.  Additionally, this function will assist with efforts to maintain compliance with Model Risk Management processes and procedures for the Home Loans Credit Strategy inventory of models and tools.  Additional focus on key efforts such as informing the Line of Business Strategies and Risk appetite through analysis and economic environment simulations and evaluate data to identify risks and opportunities, to assess potential strategy adjustments or new initiatives.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with LOB teammates and Technology team on an ongoing basis to support the Home Loans Data and analytic environment.  Provide business requirements and ensure accuracy and availability of data.
  • Establish and manage data controls to ensure accuracy, integrity, consistency, access and understanding for the end users to support ongoing monitoring and analytical efforts
  • Assist with Home Loans Credit Strategy efforts to remain compliant with Model Risk Management policies and processes.  Support model performance on going monitoring, maintain Model and Critical Spreadsheet inventory, participate in model development and documentation efforts as necessary.
  • Assist in developing ongoing view of current and forecasted credit risk of new and existing customers, using current approved risk model suite for risk appetite setting, risk appetite monitoring and business casing for strategy changes.
  • Support execution of key Data Management projects from a Credit Strategy standpoint
  • Analyze and interpret large sets of raw data to recommend ways to help the business achieve desired outcomes and make informed business decisions
  • Work with team/partners to understand credit strategies, related processes, primary metrics, risk appetite and control limits in order to use data to influence insights and business outcomes
  • Proactively identify risk and opportunities and champion or find sponsorship as appropriate
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on multiple business and technical-related topics
  • Participate on behalf of the Credit Strategy function in Home Loans or Horizontal Enterprise Credit data related work effort
  • Support Internal and External exam, or Issue remediation support, and ad hoc analytical requests as necessary
  • Proactively identify and escalate risk and opportunities, as appropriate

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a Business Analytics, Data or Analytical Platform Management, Reporting or Statistical Modeling related roles, preferably supporting Consumer Lending or Risk Management areas.
  • Experience in using database software and analytical/reporting tools, such as SAS, SQL, Tableau, with advanced PC Skills, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skill.
  • Experience or strong interest in data management, analytical platform design/maintenance as well as ongoing monitoring, and analytics to support end users in Home Loans
