Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for the leadership and direction of an assigned production shift in respect to the company's safety, quality and production standards while being consistent with Knolls values and objectives.
Essential Duties
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Must recognize unsafe conditions and practices and make corrections to prevent injuries and property loss.
- Required to support or complete safety audits/inspections of the assigned work area, through investigations of incidents and accidents, job safety analysis and have safety meetings.
- Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching and counseling associates; initiating, coordinating, and oversees systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
- Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments
- Ensure department meets its production goals (KPIs), monitor production processes and product quality to ensure correct procedures are followed for quality production.
- Complete daily production reports
- Evaluate source of equipment problems (troubleshooting), work closely with engineering and maintenance departments.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Experience requirements:
- Bachelor of Science or BA or Associates Degree or equivalent combination of experience and post-secondary education, preferably in a technical background
- 3-5 years previous supervisory experience
- Verbal and written communication skills. Should possess problem solving skills and facilitate group meetings.
- Knowledge of manufacturing organization, controls and procedures.
- Knowledge of fundamental Safety principles for an industrial work environment
- Must have experience with team building, process improvement, conflict resolution, and motivating people.
- Lean manufacturing knowledge & implementation.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001/9001 required.

Essential job functions:
- Ability to work in a team oriented environment.
- Be extremely well organized & self-directed with the flexibility to adjust priorities as required.
- Capable of working off shifts, flexible hours, including weekends.
