Position Summary:

This role will be responsible for leveraging data analytics to optimize product assortment, pricing, promotional effectiveness, and category performance within our meat merchandising division. The Merchandising Analytics Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, production, supply chain, and finance, to maximize profitability, align with market trends, and ensure optimal product availability.

Essential Functions:

Analytics & Insights

• Develop and execute comprehensive analytics strategies to measure merchandising performance and identify opportunities to optimize product assortment, pricing, and promotions.

• Conduct in-depth data analyses using various statistical methods to understand customer behavior, sales trends, and product performance.

• Translate complex data into actionable insights, providing recommendations to improve sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate closely with the merchandising, planning, and finance teams to drive aligned strategies and goals.

• Work with marketing to align promotional efforts with merchandising insights, ensuring campaigns support product performance objectives.

• Provide guidance to inventory planning to ensure optimal stock levels based on insights derived from analytics.

• Partner with production, supply chain, and inventory planning teams to ensure product availability aligns with demand forecasts and market needs.

• Collaborate with sales and account management to ensure that pricing strategies meet customer expectations while aligning with revenue and margin goals.

Reporting & Visualization

• Build and maintain interactive dashboards and reports to track KPIs (e.g., sell-through rates, margin performance, and category growth) and make data easily accessible to stakeholders.

• Regularly present findings and actionable recommendations to senior leadership, explaining complex analyses in a clear and impactful way.

Strategy Development

• Partner with merchandising leadership to develop and test innovative pricing, assortment, and product placement strategies based on data-driven insights.

• Implement A/B testing strategies to understand the impact of various merchandising approaches and adjust strategies accordingly.

• Use data to recommend changes in SKU mix, package sizes, or pricing adjustments that better align with customer demand and profitability targets.

Data Management & Tools

• Manage data sources and ensure data integrity by working closely with IT, data engineering, and other relevant teams.

• Continuously seek ways to improve data collection, storage, and analytics capabilities, recommending new tools and technologies as needed.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in data analysis tools and languages (e.g., SQL, Python, or R) and data visualization tools) 

• Advanced knowledge of Excel and experience with merchandising or analytics platforms (e.g., SAP, Google Analytics).

Analytical Skills:

• Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights.
