Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for an accomplished and strategic Director of Data Analytics to lead our centralized Data Analytics team in shaping and executing data-driven strategies that align with our business goals and accelerate revenue growth. In this pivotal role, you will guide the Data Analytics team in managing and executing daily tasks and projects, creating and owning the analytics roadmap, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for data-driven enhancements, and leveraging large datasets to uncover actionable insights. Being data-driven and possessing strong critical thinking skills are essential for informing key business decisions.The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and managerial capabilities, with a proven track record of effectively collaborating with business stakeholders, product managers, and engineering teams. A deep sense of ownership and an entrepreneurial mindset is crucial. Expertise in SQL and BI tools is highly desirable. As we are a start-up, the ideal candidate must thrive in an environment where processes are still evolving, demonstrating the ability to navigate ambiguity and proactively address and resolve data challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of 15+ data analysts, creating and owning the team’s roadmap, overseeing daily tasks, and providing guidance on projects and initiatives to ensure the delivery of high-quality, actionable insights that align with business goals. Utilize strong managerial skills to motivate, guide, and develop the team.
- Lead the team in providing accurate datasets and reporting to the rest of the company. Empower Looker as a robust self-service BI tool to cultivate a culture of self-sufficient data access across the organization.
- Lead the team to own the definition of business KPIs, develop and maintain dashboards to track them, ensuring stakeholders have regular, up-to-date insights into business performance.
- Develop and implement data strategies that support the company’s business objectives and goals, ensuring alignment with broader company strategies and adapting as necessary to meet changing needs.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, product managers, and engineering teams, to identify opportunities for data-driven improvements, operational efficiencies, and growth.
- Collaborate deeply with various business teams, including storefront, growth, loyalty, merchandising, inventory, logistics, and customer service, to drive data-informed decision-making across the organization.
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions and drive revenue growth, providing in-depth analysis to support strategic initiatives.
- Deliver detailed reports and presentations to senior leadership, clearly communicating findings, insights, and data-driven recommendations.
- Grow and coach team members with a clear understanding of their career paths, fostering their professional development.
Requirements:
- Master’s or PhD in Engineering, Math, Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in data analytics, with at least 6 years in a leadership role leading large team of 8+.
- At least 6 years of experience in the eCommerce industry.
- Strong expertise in SQL and BI tools for analyzing large datasets, with experience in developing and maintaining dashboards to track KPIs and
