Vaccination for COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) is mandatory for all MSK staff. Staff are considered fully vaccinated upon completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19 (i.e., one dose of a single dose vaccine or a final dose of a multi-dose vaccine series). Exceptions from the COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) vaccine requirements are permitted for those who request and receive an approved medical, religious, or fully remote exemption. Requests for exemption can take up to two weeks to review. Vaccination or an approved exemption is required to start work.
Job Description
We are looking for an Infection Control Technician to join our Infection Control Department!
You are:

You will:
- Collect and maintain a library of organisms necessary for molecular testing; records data and enter into database.
- Perform basic molecular diagnostic techniques. Self direct scheduling for analyses to be performed each day.
- Maintain laboratory equipment in proper working order. Follow departmental guidelines for equipment operation and maintenance of verification for each test performed and report any mechanical failures or repairs needed. Maintain inventory of supplies at appropriate levels.
- Align with all rules and regulations of the center, the department, and Federal, State and City regulatory agencies.
- Attend in-services education meetings, seminars and conferences as required. Keep up to date on medical literature of molecular diagnostics, skill, and areas of interest.
- Perform special projects and other jobs related duties as assigned.

- Experience in biology related role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
