Job Description

Visa is seeking a passionate, authentic, dynamic and results-oriented leader to join the Finance Systems Strategy (FSS) team as the Senior Director, Technology Strategy and Roadmap. FSS is responsible for managing Finance technology and tools and is currently working directly with the Finance Leadership team to design the future architecture and drive the Finance Technology modernization roadmap.

Visa has established a broader Finance Velocity Office (FVO) to build a foundation that supports the growth and complexity of our business and improves the day-to-day interactions of our Finance teams. FSS team is working tightly with the broader FVO to implement technology to evolve how we work together to achieve meaningful, sustainable change and enable our long-term growth agenda.

This is a role reporting to the VP, FSS, a leader in the Finance Velocity Team. The role involves collaborating with key stakeholders across Finance, IT and the broader business to understand needs, identify improvement opportunities to develop and execute on the roadmap to accelerate our path to building a world-class finance function.

Responsibilities and key success criteria:

  • Serve in a pivotal role to translate finance vision for the future into a world-class technology end-state architecture.
  • Develop and manage the roadmap for the end-state architecture and support development and execution of major technology roadmap initiatives.
  • Develop compelling business cases and use cases as needed to support speedy decisioning by Finance Leadership.
  • Design/facilitate sessions for alignment of end-state and roadmap. Work with third-party vendors and consulting companies for the assessments.
  • Analyze current state and business needs using industry best practices to deliver recommendations.
  • Develop and adopt clear Agile methodology and approach to drive standardization and transparency across Finance and Technology, adopting and implementing Product Lifecycle Management.
  • Define, lead QBR (quarterly business reviews) practices, engage technology partners along the way to optimize portfolio, drive optimization levers, ensure trade-offs and support new investment needs through clear and compelling business cases, etc.
  • Work closely with Technology partners on the day-to-day execution of roadmap initiatives and ongoing BAU (Fixes, Enhancements).
  • Stand up and govern change control processes to enhance quality and add rigor.
  • Provide burst capacity for managing strategic transformation initiatives (as needed).
  • Ability to manage small, lean team of Program Managers for high impact, process improvement/change programs with critical Tech/Systems implementation component.
  • Drive creation of strategic PowerPoint decks, partnering closely with broader program leadership on executive level communications.
  • Strategic and forward-looking thinking with a tendency for looking at issues in a holistic manner.
  • Experience overseeing large, complex, global transformations with a bias for action.
  • Work successfully in a matrixed environment, with an ability to influence without authority and instead use subject matter expertise and facts.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 12 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)

Preferred Qualifications:
• 15 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 12 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
• Agile Program Management experience required.
• MBA strongly preferred.
• Technology Consulting experience preferred.
• Experience designing and executing a finance transformation.
• Experience working on multi-stakeholder initiatives, focused on improving the customer experience.
• Exceptional collaboration and partnership skills in a global, matrixed environment with cross-functional teams.
