Senior Research Analyst - Climate and Policy

Trilateral Research have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Research Analyst to join our Innovation & Research Team. As Senior Research Analyst, you will contribute subject-matter expertise in the field of Climate, the Environment and/or Energy to the related I&R cluster and lead and execute Trilateral Research’s work in the EU-funded FIRELOGUE project, which aims to improve cross-sector dialogue in the complex environment of wildfire risk management (WFRM).

What are your responsibilities?
- Contribute subject-matter expertise in the field of Climate, Environment, and/or Energy to the related I&R cluster, notably in the domain of policy design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
- Lead and execute Trilateral’s work in the EU-funded FIRELOGUE project which aims to improve cross-sector dialogue in the complex environment of WFRM by fulfilling the following tasks in collaboration with project partners:
- Conducting and leading discourse analysis of the project’s wildfire risk management ‘dialogue forums’ looking for patterns and clusters;
- Conducting and leading a thematic analysis from the outputs of the ‘dialogue forums’ and mapping these against the outputs from relevant EU funded projects;
- Co-developing recommendations, including policy recommendations, on wildfire risk management stakeholders, ethical challenges, and decision-making processes;
- Documenting, advising and mentoring project partners on ethical and data protection issues arising in the project, in accordance with the Ethics Protocol and in liaison with the project’s Ethics Advisory Board;
- Undertaking impact activities, including travel, such as to project plenary meetings, workshops, and conferences.
- Ensure independent, effective and timely delivery of project work (i.e., tasks, deliverables) in direct communication with client, partners, and collaborators.
- Lead and contribute to Trilateral’s business development activities (e.g., proposals, tenders, network-building) and support knowledge sharing and training activities.
- Grow knowledge of funding schemes and application processes e.g., Horizon Europe, commercial tenders.
- Take initiative to create impact and enhance the profile of the company in collaboration with relevant teams, e.g., via peer-reviewed publications, popular press articles, presentations etc.

Essential:
- Good understanding of key climate, energy and/or environment issues, including the related policy space(s), national and/or European.
- Good multi-disciplinary stakeholder engagement skills, particularly experience working with public sector professionals, academics and/or technology developers.
- Good understanding of qualitative research methods and ability to conduct co-design workshops.
- Ability to conduct impact assessments e.g., ethical/social.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of wildfire risk management.
- Knowledge of research ethics and data protection.
- Experience with project administrative and budgetary requirements and issues.
- Successful experience developing research proposals, funding relationships and/or tender/bid writing.
