Senior Engineer API Plant PCS 

 

Bayer U.S. LLC's Berkeley, CA, office seeks a Senior Engineer API Plant PCS. This is a hybrid office-based/work-from-home position that will be responsible for designing and coordinating the development of IEC related engineering projects that arise as a result of growth or optimization of processes or areas; including ensuring compliance in quality, time, and forming each one. Duties include: (i) instruct and provide guidance to contractor, maintenance and suppliers to ensure project success; and (ii) defining the resources and budget needed for the success of the project(s) responsible (personnel, equipment, services, and materials).

 

This is a hybrid office-based/work-from-home position within the United States. The employee can work remotely from within the United States, but must be able to work in the Berkeley office at least three (3) days per week.

 

Must have a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field plus four (4) years of experience in a related position.

 

Experience must include four (4) years with: (i) budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting on/for IEC related engineering projects; (ii) pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, including equipment, utilities, and facilities, cGMP compliance, high purity water systems, clean room HVAC systems, process instrumentation and control systems, etc.; (iii) Process Control Systems, including DCS, PLC, instrumentation and low voltage electrical systems; (iv) FAT, SAT, Commissioning and Qualification, including hands on experience starting-up and running new equipment, resolving technical equipment issues, developing turn-over packages; (v) regulatory and cGMP requirements for pharmaceutical manufacturing; (vi) industry guidelines, regulatory requirements, and relevant SOPs; and (vii) troubleshooting complex equipment/systems and supporting utility services as well as equipment failures immediately and communicating status to engineers and production.

 

Must be able and willing to travel domestically to various unanticipated employer and client locations to provide project support up to 25% as well as support business requirements with rotational on-call support and/or weekend coverage.

 

This is a hybrid office-based/work-from-home position within the United States. The employee can work remotely from within the United States, but must be able to work in the Berkeley office at least three (3) days per week.

 

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $156,134 to $171,402.  Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. The offered salary may vary within this range based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
