Duties & Responsibilities
The role of this position is to protect UMB assets, facilities, associates, customers and visitors to UMB Bank by assisting the department head with assisting in security operations. Responsibilities include managing security operations throughout UMB footprint. Job is designated as hybrid. The position will be accountable for all physical security issues, will help develop, plan, and implement strategic initiatives to meet the immediate and future physical security needs of all locations. Research and report overall security issues to senior management and follow up on all deficiencies ensuring they are corrected in a timely manner.
- Partner with Property Management, Facility Management, Regional Consumer Operations, and Branch Management to address security concerns as well as to help facilitate safe/successful events
- Be primary Corporate Security presence for DT campus handling physical security and life safety needs for UMB
- Assist Security Team on Security projects within designated portfolio and beyond
- Partner with Emergency Response, Protective Services , and local Law Enforcement within designated portfolio to ensure safety and well being of all UMB assets, facilities, associates, customers, and visitors
- Establish, develop, and partner with all UMB departments and business units
- Assist with Security related vendors, including but not limited to guards, CCTV, alarms, card access, life safety, etc
- Working under approved guidelines, assist with inquiries from internal and external customers as well as law enforcement agencies in regards to Security related questions or concerns
- Maintain accurate reports and logs in support of all corporate security events and efforts.; this includes robberies, burglaries, and miscellaneous Security incidents
- Assist with and facilitate required security training for UMB associates and guard staff
- Keep Senior Management abreast of significant developments within designated portfolio and keep impacted Business Units informed
- Assist and complete required site surveys, as needed, to ensure ongoing compliance with all security standards, policies and procedures
- Review and make recommendations for security improvements to existing buildings and related equipment
- Will be proficient and actively assist with Life Safety drills and events
- Will be proficient and actively assist with Security System Administration (card access, alarm panels, etc)
- Will be proficient and maintain Security Policies and Procedures manuals
- Will be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and has the ability to respond to emergency situations
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
MINIMUM:
- Demonstrates ability to accomplish organization goals by maintaining a safe and secure environment for associates and customers

- Demonstrates familiarity and knowledge of basic computer operation, including but not limited to using Windows, Excel, and navigating through various applications

- Demonstrates ability to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively
- Demonstrates high level of organization in order to effectively and proficiently handle multiple simultaneous tasks in an often fast-paced environment

PREFERRED:
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, PowerPoint and Access

- Law enforcement or criminal justice background
Requirements
MINIMUM:
- High School Diploma or GED
OR
- 1 to 3 years of Corporate Security experience
OR
- 1 to 3 years leadership role in Armed Forces
OR
- 1 to 3 years of experience within Law Enforcement
- Experience working with Fraud, Life Safety, and Security Systems
- Valid driver's license
PREFERRED:
- Previous experience within the Financial Institution industry
- Financial Gramm Leach Bliley Act, Sarbanes-Oxley, and/or the Privacy Act
Work Environment
- Overnight travel required approximately 25% of the work year
