Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office is the oncology service line for Banner Research. The department operates in Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center and Banner Gateway Medical Center. The department conducts Phases I-III treatment clinical trials covering all disease groups with the goal to provide support to the physician investigators and to provide trial treatment options to the patients in a safe and ethical manner, while ensuring compliance to the FDA and institutional regulations.

This position will support data collection and management, regulatory support, consenting, and other research coordination on non-pharmaceutical sponsored hematology trials and from our standard of care patient population for retrospective analyses to allow quality improvement projects through reporting of patient outcomes. 

The main areas of initial disease focus for this individual will be acute leukemia, multiple myeloma, and bleeding disorder patients to align with current faculty best positioned to yield results.  The position would be housed within the clinical research office within hematology to allow oversight, mentoring, support, and intermittent data audits.  The role would involve 1) extracting data from charts of patients with these diagnoses and organizing into an internal database, 2) compiling the data for specified investigator-initiated studies, 3) assisting with regulatory submissions for these unfunded retrospective and prospective trials, and 4) consenting patients as needed on prospective trials or data consent protocols, among other duties.

Hours are Mon-Fri 8a-4:30pm, No weekends or holidays

(the Phoenix Metro area) on the Banner Gateway Campus, the center provides world-class care for oncology patients - both inpatient and outpatient - and has also brought leading oncology programs to the Banner Gateway campus including designation as a Stem Cell Transplant Center of Excellence and comprehensive Head & Neck cancer care. Our capabilities include five linear accelerator vaults, a brachytherapy vault, an advanced diagnostic imaging suite with PET/CT scan, more than 70 infusion bays, a cryopreservation lab and much more. Our inpatient medical oncology unit also incorporates a program that utilizes the electronic surveillance partnership in caring for the patient, where remote nurses have the ability to interact with patients via two-way audio-video to assist the bedside nurse with patient care.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for handling key functions for research studies, such as participant consenting, screening, enrollment, registrations, and compiling and submitting data related to participants engaged in applicable research studies. Monitors study compliance and maintains a system for effective data flow associated with research protocols.
