POSITION OVERVIEW

The Head of Technology Delivery Operations ensures predictable, efficient, and high-quality execution of technology projects and products across Royal Caribbean Group. This role is accountable for delivery performance, operational excellence, and building scalable execution practices that enable the business to achieve its goals reliably.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Partner with Technology Leadership, business executives, and PMO to align delivery plans with strategic priorities and organizational goals. (Responsible)
• Lead the day-to-day execution of a multi-million-dollar portfolio of technology projects and product deliveries, overseeing end-to-end delivery to ensure they meet quality standards, stay within budget, and adhere to timelines (Responsible and Accountable).
• Develop and implement a comprehensive delivery framework, promoting best practices in product/project management, Agile methodologies, and operational excellence (Responsible).
• Oversee cross-functional teams, including project managers, technical leads, and vendors, to ensure seamless execution and delivery of projects and products (Accountable).
• Drive Agile transformation across teams by coaching and mentoring Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and leaders to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation (Responsible).
• Collaborate with executive leadership to prioritize initiatives, allocate resources, and manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring alignment with business needs (Informed/Consulted).
• Establish and maintain governance processes for risk management, issue resolution, quality assurance, and compliance throughout project lifecycles (Responsible).
• Monitor program health through dashboards, metrics, and regular status updates, providing transparency and insights to senior leadership (Informed).
• Manage program budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting, ensuring optimal resource utilization and adherence to financial targets (Accountable).
• Cultivate a high-performing, collaborative team environment, emphasizing talent development, diversity, and inclusion (Responsible).
• Establish and maintain delivery governance, processes, and metrics to support operational excellence and continuous improvement (Responsible).
• Collaborate with Product leaders to translate strategic roadmaps into actionable execution pipelines (Informed).
• Oversee risk management, quality assurance, and compliance across all technology deliveries (Responsible).
• Manage resource capacity, allocation, and vendor relationships to maximize efficiency and drive automation, DevOps, and agile adoption (Responsible).
• Represent the organization in external forums, vendor negotiations, and industry best practices related to technology delivery (Consulted).

 

 

KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
2. 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in IT, with proven success managing large-scale technology programs and transformations. Consulting experience preferred.
3. Extensive experience implementing Agile frameworks at scale (e.g., SAFe, LeSS) and leading organizational change initiatives.
4. Strong knowledge of SDLC, cloud platforms, enterprise architecture, and modern development tools (e.g., JIRA, DevOps).
5. Certifications such as PMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), or equivalent are highly desirable.
