VP, Product Innovation Technology

Job Summary

The VP, Product Innovation Technology is responsible for driving the technological vision, innovation, and execution across the company’s Products and Solutions portfolio. 

This role ensures alignment between business unit strategies and technology initiatives, driving competitive differentiation and customer value. The Vice President, Technology will lead cross-functional teams, collaborate with engineering and product leaders, and oversee the development and implementation of key technological priorities that support business growth and transformation.

This position will be based onsite at Vertiv's Westerville, OH - HQ office location.

Responsibilities:

• Define and execute the technology strategy to support Vertiv’s business objectives and product innovation roadmap.
• Partner with business unit leaders, product teams, and engineering groups to align technology investments with strategic priorities, accelerate innovation and leverage synergies across platforms.
• Serve as a strategic technology advisor to executive leadership and business unit heads.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation, efficiency, and competitive advantage.
• Ensure technology roadmaps incorporate customer needs, market trends, and business imperatives.
• Defining, setting, and ultimately overseeing technical competence dashboard that incorporates engineering capability and capacity across Vertiv, and feeds into business operating rhythm and strategic hiring decisions.
• Identify technical risks and develop risk management strategies that are embedded into technology decisions.
• Participate in industry organizations and associations and maintain relationships with key customer and industry technical leaders.
• Partner with global universities and colleges to participate in research activities as well as funding opportunities to further enhance our innovation efforts. 

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
• 15+ years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a proven track record in product and solution development.
• Extensive experience leading software, hardware, and cloud technology initiatives.
• Strong expertise in product lifecycle management, agile development methodologies, and emerging technology adoption.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale technology transformations and drive business value through innovation.
• Experience in data center infrastructure, networking, AI/ML, IoT, or related high-tech industries is a plus.
• Strong business acumen, with the ability to translate technology strategy into business impact.
