UTeach at UT Austin includes the innovative UTeach STEM teacher preparation program, a national expansion effort for that program, teacher professional development, and several local STEM education initiatives, all supporting the improvement of STEM education and the public education system overall.
Purpose:
Support UTeach Natural Sciences students and staff by managing chemical and equipment inventory, performing various lab preparations, organizational tasks and assist in maintaining UTeach computers.

Responsibilities:
- Manage an extensive inventory of chemical, technological and miscellaneous equipment including adding new items to the inventory database, fulfilling requests for items, and tracking who takes items.
- Prepare equipment for projects.
- Review/revise chemical and biological waste documentation.
- Assist with project designs by recommending items in inventory.
- Manage software applications on multiple devices.
- Troubleshoot issues with the printer/copier located in the UTeach workroom.
- Ensure a clean work environment and educate our students and staff on workroom rules.
Required Qualifications:
Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
Pursuing a degree in Natural Sciences or Engineering.
Salary:
$10 - $15 per hour depending on qualifications.
Working Conditions
- Workroom attendant – typical shared office environment
- Typical chemical wet lab work required
Work Shift
- Shifts are dependent on availability. We will work around class schedules.
- Workroom hours of operation: M-F 7:45am – 8pm & Sunday 1pm-6pm. Schedule varies in summer and during finals week.
