Position Summary:The Director of Healthcare IT and Government Affairs will have a track record of relationship building, with states and local governments for healthcare technology business. You will have an understanding of customer requirements, government and have a deep industry network. You will be able to think strategically and critically, build strong relationships of trust, and fully and properly represent PointClickCare in very senior external interactions. As a Director serving within PointClickCare’s government affairs team, you will be a critical part of a fast-growing business segment and deeply entrenched across multiple teams, including product, sales, marketing, engineering, success and clinical solutions.

As a Director serving within PointClickCare’s government affairs team, you will be a critical part of a fast-growing business segment and deeply entrenched across multiple teams, including product, sales, marketing, engineering, success and clinical solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and track regulatory changes in Health IT that would have an impact to PointClickCare business lines (examples TEFCA, ONC, CURES Act, CMS)
- Monitor and/or participate in industry workgroups and committees that help shape policy for Health IT (Gravity, PACIO, HITAC, the Sequoia project)
- Meet with governing bodies, such as ONC and CMS, to educate on LTPAC space and Health IT needs, clarify regulations related to HIT, advocate for LTPAC HIT needs
- Interpret Health IT regulations and industry trends into business insights for PointClickCare business lines and help shape the company’s strategy on Health IT initiatives while maintaining:
- Commercial pragmatism
- A focus on the larger (long-term) PointClickCare strategy
- An understanding of the “intent” of the regulations
- Have a technical understanding of interoperability, data standards, and FHIR and can work with the PEO to ensure:
- Our products meet Health IT Compliance Standards
- We are future-proofing our interoperability infrastructure (technical and regulatory)
- We have a seat at the table that defines the future with active voting participation in HL7 or EQ.
- Work with cross functional teams to design, develop and assess ways to collect, share, standardize and integrate health data and the information systems used to manage it
- ONC compliance oversight, working with Product team to ensure application remains ONC compliant, including:
- Managing Conditions of Maintenance & Certification with ONC
- Managing Real World Testing Plans and delivery of results
- Managing Drummond quarterly attestations
- Maintaining CHPL listing as ONC key contact
- Educate don’t dictate, our people have 95% of the answers to the questions they ask
- Support the building of a regulated culture without building new hurdles
- Don’t accept no or we can’t do that as an answer (technically or commercially)
- Don’t allow problems to be raised without a future mindset towards solutions
Required Skills & Experience:
- You will have deep experience in Healthcare and Healthcare IT. Experience with CMS/ONC is preferred but not required
- 5+ years of Healthcare Data experience
- Subject matter expertise relevant to public health, medicaid and other state healthcare interests.
- Demonstrated understanding of federal and state government contract vehicles and other related Government contracting requirements.
- Senior level experience working with customer organizations; a combination of government experience and commercial business development experience is preferred.
- Experience developing opportunities from early concept / trend identification through qualification.
- Ability to engage, motivate and collaborate within a matrixed, multi-disciplinary environment.
- Experience leading a high performing team
- Team-building and influencing outcomes by the ability to motivate performance and establish coalitions across a matrixed organized.
