Job Summary:


The effective candidate will make progressive and final inspection of any optical or optomechanical device, and any associated electronics which may or may not be an integral part of the device.

*1st Shift – 5:00AM – 2:30PM (9/80, Schedule B) – El Segundo, CA. This position is an onsite role. *


Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Works from engineering drawings and specifications and/or preliminary information, oral and written instructions

  • Exercises technical judgment in the use of optomechanical or electrical inspection instruments to obtain desired results.

  • Recommends methods and develops sequence of operations to inspect optomechanical or electrical devices and associated electronics.

  • Performs special inspection investigations working with engineering personnel.

  • Records and reviews inspection and test data as required, prepares reports, and maintains records.

  • May aid personnel in lower related job classifications

  • Meets necessary certifications as required.

  • Performs incidental related duties as assigned or required.

  • Ability to work different shifts as required to include first, second, third, special- overtime on some weekends.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • 5 years’ experience with visual inspection of circuit card assembly.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Manufacturing Environment.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with reading and interpreting engineering drawings and documentation.

  • Knowledge of First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102

  • 5 years’ experience in the use of precision measurement tools including calibration.

  • 5 years’ experience with dimensioning and tolerancing per ANSI Y14.5M-1994

  • Possess an American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification: Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) Certified, Quality Technician (CQT) or Certified Calibration Technician (CCT)

  • Aerospace background in a company certified to AS9100

  • The salary range for this role is $26.57 to $44.67; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
