Data Software Engineer / Sr. Data Software Engineer

We are looking for a data software engineer / senior data software engineer not only to build data pipelines and transport data across systems, but also to build the next generation of data tools to explore these data. In this role, your work will broadly influence the company's products, operations, commercial activities, data consumers, and analysts.

What You'll Do:

• Build and maintain data models, ETL/ELT pipelines, core data metrics and data quality
• Design, build, and maintain a data warehouse that generates key metrics, guides company strategy, and models predictive results
• Work directly with stakeholders across multiple functions (Operations, Commercial, Strategy, Product, Finance, Research) to gather new data and leverage existing data to address their needs
• Design and implement data processing pipelines, REST based services, and other data services
• Evaluate and guide recommendations on new data technologies and products

About You:

• 3+ years programming experience in Python with BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent)
• Strong SQL knowledge on writing scalable and efficient queries
• Experience with designing and building robust scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines 
• Experience with working with MPP databases (e.g., Snowflake/Redshift) and cloud environments, preferably AWS
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, proven by track record of interdepartmental work with a range of stakeholders

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with dbt and Replication tools such as Stitch, Matillion, or similar
• Strong knowledge of Orchestration tools like Airflow
• Experience with building Tableau dashboards and administering Tableau servers
• Experience with Docker containers
• Experience with data model design with STAR and Snowflake schema
• Strong Object Oriented skills preferred
• Previous experience in a biotech environment with knowledge of biology, chemistry, or genetics
• A solid foundation in computer science, with proven competency in data structures, algorithms, and software design
