Responsibilities:

• Lead well managed and controlled activities over operational process that require high level of accounting judgement, including the Company’s impairment testing of Goodwill, Intangible Assets, and Held for Sale analyses

• Support accounting in interpreting and applying relevant accounting rules and guidance for Corporate Development initiatives including accounting research, presentation of findings, and documentation

• Support partner teams in interpreting and applying relevant accounting rules

• Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments

• Develop project plans, track completion, and communicate status to stakeholders on multiple workflows with competing priorities 

• Partner cross-functionally with customers as a subject matter expert, responding to ad-hoc requests

• Support compliance activities

The ideal candidate contains a proficiency in technical accounting with a proven ability to develop a deep understanding of applicable accounting guidance and regulations, and possesses strong written and oral communication skills.  A limited amount of travel to various Capital One corporate locations may occur.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or military experience

• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, or in accounting integration, or in finance, or in audit, or a combination

• At least 4 years of experience in project management or in product management

Preferred Qualifications:

• 4+ years of banking or finance industry experience

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $146,100 - $166,700 for Manager, Accounting

 

Richmond, VA: $132,800 - $151,600 for Manager, Accounting

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
