Head of Global Policy

<p>At Scale, we believe that AI will dramatically improve the world, and our mission is to accelerate the development of AI. As Scale continues to grow its Government Relations function, we are looking for a Head of Global Policy to support our engagements with Congress, Government Agencies, Industry Trade Associations, and more.</p> <p>The successful candidate will have a history of successfully driving successful Policy and Regulatory outcomes, and the ability to connect business objectives to policy wins.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>You will:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Own Scale's global policy strategy across all issue areas, including AI governance, federal procurement, international AI safety frameworks and more.</li> <li>Lead and grow a team of policy professionals, setting priorities and managing execution across a complex portfolio</li> <li>Translate business objectives into policy outcomes&nbsp;</li> <li>Serve as Scale's senior voice at trade associations, standards bodies, and industry coalitions; drive consensus on Scale's priority positions</li> <li>Brief and advise Scale's executive leadership on regulatory and legislative developments affecting the business</li> <li>Lead Scale's response to Rulemakings, Requests for Comments, and regulatory proceedings across jurisdictions</li> <li>Build and maintain relationships with senior government officials, agency leads, and legislative staff in the US and internationally</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Ideally you'd have:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>8+ years experience in Policy or working in the Government</li> <li>Experience successfully securing consensus for priorities at trade associations, standards bodies</li> <li>Experience leading company response to Rulemakings, Request for Comments, etc.&nbsp;</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills&nbsp;</li> <li>Previous technical experience such as publishing research/peer reviewed paper, covering technology policy as an issue area within the Government, working at a technical Government Agency within the Executive Branch, or experience in the technology sector&nbsp;</li> <li>A history of managing multiple works streams simultaneously</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Nice to haves:</strong></p> <ul> <li>History working within a startup environment or tech company</li> <li>Active U.S. Top Secret or Secret clearance</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p><em>Compensation packages at Scale f
