Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with a strong background in software engineering, cloud architecture, and data technologies. Your primary role will be to design, develop, and maintain data products rooted in machine learning. Leveraging your expertise in data processing, API development, and cloud solutions, machine learning applications you will be integral in crafting efficient, self-contained data products. Emphasizing multi-cloud solutions, you will be tasked with managing both fast and slow-moving data, and ensuring seamless data flow and accessibility across different cloud environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Skilled software engineer and coder. The role is focused on making quality software, being responsible for the choices about what that means. 
  • Drive correctness via testing, code review and coding standards.  
  • Implement systems for monitoring containerized applications at scale, ensuring reliable performance and quick resolution of potential issues. 
  • Develop scalable container-based applications in Kubernetes 
  • Implement and optimize cloud-based data architectures and infrastructures to support data product deployment and usage, we use AWS, Azure, and GCP. 
  • Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to integrate AI/ML algorithms into data products and ML applications. 
  • Create comprehensive and clear technical documentation that outlines processes for maintaining and utilizing data products and APIs. 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent experience. 
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on cloud architecture and data product development. 
  • Proficient in at least one modern typed language.  Applicant should be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate a new project from scratch, efficiently debug issues, optimize performance, and generally exhibit mastery in its use. 
  • Working knowledge of python is a must as that is the language used by data science. 
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. 
  • Extensive experience designing and building robust APIs. 
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, and experience managing data in multi-cloud environments. 
  • Experience with data engineering principles and databases, both SQL and NoSQL (experience with Spark, Databricks and data pipelines is a plus). 
  • Understanding of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and related technologies. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. 
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
