The Electrical & Automation Engineer will be responsible to ensure all site electrical systems are always operating reliably and safely. Providing advanced electrical engineering and technical support to trades and production teams. In addition, you will provide site engineering with the required competence on Factory Automation Systems (FAS), Process Control Systems and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to effectively support manufacturing operational activities and continuously improve manufacturing performance.
A day in the life…
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, key responsibilities of the role include, but not limited to:
- Support and Monitor capital Investments in the factory from the preparation to implementation in terms of technical soundness, costs and resources ensuring the alignment with standards, flawless implementation and CQVH (commissioning, qualification, verification and handover).
- Ensure process and equipment safety for people, products, and the environment.
- Ensure that change management is in place to appropriately manage modifications of the solutions in his/her field of expertise.
- Execute the strategy of the market in terms of MES, Electricity and Automation in alignment with corporate standards best engineering practices.
- Responsible for the management of the factory electrical system.
- Provide technical support and direction with PLC/HMI/SCADA programming, high voltage electricity, selection of instrumentation and calibration, process control and troubleshooting.
- Implement and maintain the automation / industrial IT network.
- Implement and configure MES.
- Ensure the factory is IS/IT compliant.
- Conduct Nestlé Dust Explosion Risk Assessments and manage Hazardous Areas.
- Support the management and development of the site electricians.
- Provide one-on-one PLC/HMI/SCADA training/coaching and when required, supervise contractors.
- Review electrical breakdown reports and develop prevention strategies.
- Provide communication to cross-functional teams in relation to any electrical issues.
- Ensure electrical Compliance to Nestlé safety and quality systems, policies and procedures.

- Minimum 3 years Automation and/or MES engineer with Electrical experience.
- Participation in the development of engineering projects as part of a multidisciplinary team (preferably including different products and technologies in Electrical and Automation areas)
- Self-Management following defined KPIs/Objectives, and proactively tracking them.
- Exposure to TPM, preventive maintenance planning and/or maintenance execution
- Experience working in food manufacturing environment – preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication with all levels of management.
- Degree in Electrical and/or Automation Engineering.
- Demonstrable experience in similar role with strong people management experience.
- Detailed & advanced knowledge of high voltage, low voltage, controls and automation
- Experience in the use of SAP
